Michelangelo Pistoletto: From One to Many, 1956–1974
Opening November 2
Michelangelo Pistoletto is considered today to be one of Europe’s most innovative contemporary artists.  With more than 100 works on view, Michelangelo Pistoletto: From One to Many, 1956–1974 explores Pistoletto’s passage from an intensive study of self-portraiture to groundbreaking works that are increasingly participatory and inclusive of the spectator.

Concurrent with this exhibition, Michelangelo Pistoletto: Cittadellarte transports Pistoletto's current work from Italy to Philadelphia, invoking the mission of his creative laboratory—to place “art at the center of a responsible transformation of society.”  This presentation will be accompanied by a variety of activities and programs for audiences of all ages.

PERFORMANCE
Scultura Da Passeggio (Walking Sculpture)
Saturday, October 30, 1:00 p.m.
Join the procession as Pistoletto rolls a giant ball of newspapers, made with the help of Spiral Q Puppet Theater through Philadelphia, beginning at the Museum’s West Entrance—rain or shine! The artist will recreate his Walking Sculpture, a seminal 'action' first performed in 1967 on the streets of Turin.
