Summer Workshops Begin June 27 | |||
Bob Dylan once famously sang, "Well I try my best / To be just like I am / But everybody wants you / To be just like them." Sound familiar? Here at Saturday High, Art Center College of Design's program for high school students (grades 9 through 12), we're happy with you just being you. We want you to be the best you that you can possibly be. There's no better time to explore your own potential than during the summer, when Saturday High offers a series of intense one- and two-week art and design workshops. So whether you want to create your own comic book, design costumes for the movies, imagine transportation vehicles of the future or express yourself with a camera, Saturday High has a summer workshop for you. David Sotelo, who teaches the Fundamentals of Photography summer workshop, believes learning how to express yourself is the most important thing he and his colleagues teach at Saturday High. "If you dismiss your students' potential and try to make them all into clones, they'll just tune out and say 'forget it,'" says David. "But when they feel they're being validated for their own individual potential, they blossom." Read more about instructor David Sotelo.
