Lunch and Lecture: The Art and Life of John James Audubon
Friday, November 19 | 11 am

Audubon’s adventures took him from wilderness expeditions to the Royal Societies of Europe. Curator Joseph Covington examines The Birds of America within the context of his life. A lunch catered by Iris follows.

Lecture: Ways of Seeing: Norman Rockwell
Sunday, November 21 | 2:30 pm | Free

Rockwell expert Wanda Corn, of Stanford University, reveals what to look for throughout Rockwell’s images.


Music and Movies

The Front Porch

Step back to a simpler time with music and storytelling on the Museum’s own Front Porch. Listen as author Cynthia Moore Brown spins delightful tales on November 20, and tap your toes to old-time tunes performed by David Giuseppe on November 27.

Concert: The Great American Songbook: The Music of Cole Porter, George Gershwin, and Rodgers and Hart

The Triad’s most accomplished musicians perform the music of American masters in a tribute to Norman Rockwell.

Fall Film Series

Fall Film Series: PleasantvilleThe Friday night film series takes its inspiration from the world of Rockwell. November features the endearing nostalgic comedy Paper Moon, a collection of vintage films from the A/V Geeks, and the suffocating utopia of Pleasantville.

Before the film, stroll through the galleries or unwind with a glass of wine from our Friday night wine bar in West Building.

The Art Hour
Free

Our popular library program returns to Cameron Village and East Regional libraries with books featured in Fins and Feathers. Families discover storybook art and create a picture-book-inspired masterpiece to take home. Registration required.

Children’s Performance: A Show of Virtues with Grey Seal Puppets
Saturday, November 13 | 11 am and 1 pm

Award-winning puppeteers perform tales that demonstrate courage, perseverance, politeness, and tolerance. Tickets available through the Box Office. Don’t forget to join us for free drop-in crafts.

The Rockwell Café in East Building offers lunch, dinner, or a quick snack. Reservations are not necessary for this counter service dining option.
