The critique of gender and cultural identity is a powerful theme in contemporary art. See how traditional and emerging artists have explored this issue, which is on the cutting edge of art today. This exhibition is part of the Discovering the Visual Art Treasures in Central Florida project, a comprehensive series of exhibitions and related programming at the OMA that showcase important art treasures in Central Florida.
Marilyn Monroe is one of Andy Warhol's most iconic images, purchased in 1996 with funds provided by the Council of 101. This art treasure was chosen by PNC Bank for sponsorship. "PNC understands the importance that the arts and culture has in strengthening the community, and has formed strong partnerships with outstanding community-based organizations such as the Orlando Museum of Art to enrich the lives of those who live and visit this region," said Craig Grant, regional president of PNC Bank for Florida. |
