Themed Fridays Return!

Art in the Evening turns our West Building Lobby into a lounge every Friday night. East in the Evening signals the return of our popular themed events that take select Friday nights up a notch with lively music by local bands and specialty small plates and beverages in the spacious East Building.

Peter Lamb and the Wolves
Howl at the moon! We kick off themed Friday nights with a funky full moon party featuring swing jazz quintet Peter Lamb and the Wolves. An all-star lineup of local musicians, the group blends eclectic melodies and sounds from around the world with a New Orleans groove.

News and Observer
music critic Owen Cordle called the band's debut album "the perfect antidote for fans who think jazz has become too self-absorbed." The group also recently performed on WUNC's "The State of Things."

Bring a date or a group of friends, enjoy a glass of wine or a microbrew from our bar, and share small plates seasoned with a bit of full moon flair. Check out the menu online.

Stay for a film screening of film noir classic Criss Cross at 8 pm, or stroll the galleries, always open until 9 pm on Fridays.

The Museum and live music are free to enjoy. Beverages and small plates are available for purchase.

Art in the Evening in West BuildingFor a more low-key entrée to the weekend, we offer Art in the Evening every Friday in the new West Building. Catch up with friends over a glass of wine and light music in our lobby-turned-lounge. The Art in the Evening bar serves up a selection of fine wines, microbrews, and small plates.

Head over to East Building at 8 pm to take in a classic flick in our Winter Film Series, or linger in our galleries. They're always open until 9 pm, so there's plenty of time to discover our art after dark.

And don't forget—Iris, the Museum Restaurant, is open every Friday night, so join us for a glass of wine and an appetizer before sitting down to dinner.
