| Celebrating 40 Years of Southwest Art

In May 1971, Southwest Art magazine made its debut. Since then, Southwest Art has been a definitive source of information and inspiration for collectors and a champion of today's artists. In celebration of our anniversary, the May issue recognizes 40 prominent people who have made a difference in the western art world, including artists, gallery owners, show organizers, and scholars. Quang Ho, a well-known painter from Colorado, is this month's cover artist and one of the many artists we salute in our May issue. His painting, SUMMER ARRANGEMENT, is shown above.

A Family Reunited Through Art

Colorado artist Ann Gargotto was an Artist to Watch in the March issue. In the article, she mentioned a homeless man named Phillip whom she painted for a show last year. After reading the interview, Pearl Kelly, a Southwest Art subscriber from Sacramento, CA, visited our website to see PHILLIP TAGEANT, shown above. The man in the painting is Pearl's uncle, whom she hasn't seen in 32 years. With the help of Pearl's sister, who lives in Colorado, and the artist, the family has reunited with Phillip.
