Dear omss,
Did you know that Intuit has presented nearly 100 exhibitions in our 20 years? Thanks to a team of dedicated volunteers, we have been steadily digitizing our slide collection of early Intuit exhibitions. You can see a handful of these past exhibitions (with more added every week) on our Flickr page. You still have few days to see our current exhibition in person before it's gone: Architecture of Hope - the Treasures of Intuit closes on May 14th! |
| | | Lecture: May 12, 6pm
| Outside the Canon: Art from the Outside and its Displacement in Art History The idiosyncratic evolution of work by self-taught and outsider artists does not fold easily into the stately parade that forms the basis of Western art history. It is therefore a convenience to leave it out. In this presentation, Randy M. Vick, Associate Professor of Art Therapy at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago shares his perspective on how this art does (and does not) find a place in the fine art canon. Free and open to the public. Frank Signoretti (b. 1921) Untitled (The still life), ca. 1966-1971 buttons sewn on velvet Gift of Frank Signoretti | Closet Clearance Sale: May 21, 10am
