Opening Weekend
June 11 & 12, 10 am–5 pm
Raku Firing
Watch a live raku firing on the plaza. Artist Bob Smith demonstrates his firing technique on Martin Plaza, complete with smoke and flames.
Artists at Work
Santa Clara artist Roxanne Swentzell continues work on her 10-foot sculpture, Mud Woman Rolls On, in the American Indian art galleries. In the interactive Mud Studio, artist Robin Furuta shows you how to use a potter's wheel. Try to throw your own pot or build one by hand.
New Hotspots
We've created new in-gallery activities for Marvelous Mud. Every weekend you can experiment with something new, including trying your hand at Hopi painting techniques or designing a clay pot like those used to prepare chocolate in Colonial Mexico.
Member Moments
Members get a sneak peek of Marvelous Mud Friday night. We're also opening the museum one hour early on Saturday and they can hear exclusive insights from curators. Not a member? Join today.
