Outdoor Cinema

Brilliant performances by Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Trombone Shorty, and BeauSoleil (and Michael Jackson on the big screen!) have dominated the Park Theater schedule so far this summer. Now it’s time for our Outdoor Cinema to shine.

Morning Glory
Friday, June 24 | 9 pm

(2010) Directed by Roger Mitchell. Rachel McAdams, Diane Keaton, Harrison Ford. (107 min.) PG-13

Pure comedic fun with irresistible star power. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone calls it “a tart, terrific comedy that gives Harrison Ford his best and funniest role in years.” He plays a self-important and curmudgeonly TV news anchor forced to contend with a young producer (Rachel McAdams) who’s been hired to revive the fortunes of a foundering morning news show. Perfect summertime entertainment and a great date-night movie by the director of Notting Hill and the screenwriter of The Devil Wears Prada

Family Fun in the Setting Sun
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I

Saturday, June 25
Family fun activities begin at 7:30 pm, movie at 9 pm

(2010) Directed by Peter Yates. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint (146 min.) PG-13

It’s getting very near the end for our heroes Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Celebrate by dressing up as your favorite Harry Potter character. There’ll be lots to see and do before the show. You can make your own wand and conjure a spell at one of several creation stations, have your picture taken with Harry and friends, and enter raffles to win prizes. Special HP food treats, too, available at our concessions area.

Rain out Redo
Inception, our first movie of the summer season, was canceled because of stormy weather. We have rescheduled the screening for Friday, August 26, at 8:30 pm.

Upcoming

July 16 | 7 pm
Iris DeMent, followed by screening of True Grit

Our first of two wonderful Music/Movie Combos is on the horizon. Acclaimed singer-songwriter Iris DeMent performs before the screening of last year’s megahit True Grit. DeMent is the only voice heard on Carter Burwell’s evocative soundtrack, based on the lovely hymn “Leaning on the Everlasting Arms.”
