| Please take a moment to consider a significant new plein air event, the Crested Butte Plein Air Invitational, hosted by the Oh-Be-Joyful Gallery. Forty five professional plein air painters will be visiting Crested Butte to paint in paradise for a week this July. We are pleased to have five emeritus artists joining us- Kenn Backhaus, Gay Faulkenberry, Jean LeGassick, Jay Moore and Ralph Oberg. A large gala exhibition opens in the gallery and an outdoor tent on Friday, July 15th.
As many as 400 fresh paintings made around Crested Butte will be for sale. Paintings may be previewed at 8am online the day of the opening. Preview phone sales can be arranged for Patron and Emeritus sponsors. This Invitational has one of the best participating artist lists of any plein air event occurring in 2011, and is sponsored by Southwest Art Magazine.
