Second Art-o-mat® in Houston.....

Hi All!

We now have a second Art-o-mat® in Houston, TX. Our host will be the new Whole Foods Market in the Montrose neighborhood. The machine was designed with items from the bulk bins from our local WFM.

Here is a nice spot by channel 39…..

Diverseworks is our long time Houston host.

We also have another new host in Texas. The Esquire Tavern in San Antonio….which is the oldest bar on the Riverwalk.

Anyway, all eight of our Texas venues are interested in having local artists in their machines. We often hear that this artist/that artist wants to make Art-o-mat® work. But, there is a good chance that "We've howdyed but we ain't shook"….aka: we haven't been formally introduced. So, if you know of any artists who are interested in being involved, please send them our way.

Thanks!

Art-o-mat® featured in the Wall Street Journal.

The Art-o-mat® project was featured in an article about unconventional vending machines written by Nick Haramis. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas mentioned and Corey Hengen was quoted. Elin Waterson's work pictured in the newsprint edition.

FYI, Corey recently self published a book of his photography. It is titled "SEEN - the world as I see it."

THE MOST Cliché SAYING IN THE WORLD

How many times have you heard the saying "I've been busy"? This saying has to be the most overused phrase in the cubicle world. However, it is a very mannerly and effective way to convey that a certain task is lower on the old to-do list. FYI...we do not work in cubicles anymore. But, we do miss them on occasions.

Anyway, in regard to our updates…we've been busy. ;) Please know that sharing what is happing with the Art-o-mat® project is a priority for us and it has been on our minds. Just, keeping on top of things has us working at capacity. Please forgive us for not touching base over the last few months.

Here is what has been happening……

• Even though January has traditionally been a slow time for Art-o-mat®…our Fall/Winter 2010 venues in "Nevada" and the "District of Columbia" are seriously plowing through some art. So, our goal of getting art into people's hands has been bumped up a few notches and our usual winter pr efforts have taken a back seat to packing orders.

• Taking the above into account…we have about 5 new venues in the works. Some first encountered Art-o-mat® at the above venues.

• New venues that we have either installed and/or are working on….

• Last, we have been attracting more artists and receiving some really nice prototypes. All coming to a machine near you. But, we do need more art. If you are interested in being involved (or know someone who is)…please visit our guidelines.

We also have prototype kits available to help with the formulation of prototypes. These kits contain a full range of the materials that we supply for Art-o-mat®. The kits also include general information, a button, a sticker and a postcard.

Last, anyone who has been visiting our machines.....Thank You! It is great hearing from you and seeing your posts via Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Youtube. You all totally rock.

Sincerely,

Clark and AIC
