Play with Clay During Family Day July 16, 10 am–4 pm We're hosting a day of special activities for the entire family. Enjoy Marvelous Mud and dig into a world of clay throughout the museum complex. Sculpt, mold, create, and get messy. Join mud masters Bill and Athena Steen as they create a giant, outdoor CLAYground on the plaza. Help them mix clay and straw, then plaster the CLAYground with adobe. Wander inside the museum and watch a mini clay-animation film fest, stop by our animation Hotspot to make your own or head to the Mud Studio to sit at a pottery wheel. In the galleries, decorate replica Maya chocolate cups, try your hand at Hopi tile painting, play games, check out the clay band, and join the performance. Free with museum admission. No reservations required.
