First Friday Films: For Whom the Bell Tolls

The Spanish Civil War had a tremendous impact on many leading artists and writers in Europe. In conjunction with From El Greco to Dali, Sandie Holhuin, Associate Professor of History at the University of Oklahoma, will speak about this 20th century conflict and its reverberations throughout the art world. After her talk, audiences can enjoy the film adaptation of Ernest Hemingway's classic novel, For Whom the Bell Tolls starring classic film stars Gary Cooper and Ingrid Bergman.

Educators are invited to this once-a year preview of Museum education programs and teacher resources. Attendees will learn about exhibitions and programs at the Museum during the 2011/2012 school year. Sample art projects and other curriculum resources will be available.

Bus Tour to the Huntington Library

Take a chartered bus tour with the  Asian Arts Council to The Huntington Library to view Chinese, Bonsai, and Zen Gardens, as well as the exhibition The House that Sam Built: Sam Maloof and Art in the Pomona Valley.
