Fall Film Series Seven Samurai Friday, September 17 | 8 p.m. Museum Auditorium
Welcome home to the NCMA auditorium! Films will be screened most Fridays at 8 pm from September to May. We encourage you to arrive early to explore the galleries, dine at Iris, the Museum Restaurant, or relax in West Building at the Art in the Evening wine bar before enjoying gorgeous 35 mm prints from the nation’s film archives. A series of new prints from Janus Films pays tribute to the work of Japanese master director Akira Kurosawa, in honor of the 100th anniversary of his birth. Our retrospective begins with the definitive version of Kurosawa’s most famous film, Seven Samurai, featuring additional footage and improved subtitles.
Please note that the film is an hour longer than the version we screened a decade ago, so the introduction will be short!
