Cinderella
Wednesday 12 - Saturday 15 January 2011 Artistic Director Ashley Page's spectacular version of Cinderella, one of Scottish Ballet's most popular productions, returns to the stage this winter. Tormented by her stepmother and stepsisters, Cinderella is lost and lonely, until a simple act of kindness summons her Fairy Godmother who sends her on a magical journey to find happiness. Showcasing sumptuous designs from award-winning designer Antony McDonald, this vivid reworking of the much-love fairytale is transported to a decadent Vivienne Westwood-meets-Andy Warhol 18th Century France, swept up in Prokofiev's romantic score, performed live by the Scottish Ballet Orchestra. Scottish Ballet's exceptional dancers bring these unforgettable characters to life with genuine emotion and plenty of wit, making Cinderella a fantastic feast of classical and modern dance. Cinderella is touring to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Belfast and will be at Edinburgh's Festival Theatre from Wednesday 12 - Saturday 15 January.
