Chinese artist Li Jin's 59 foot long painted scroll, A Feast, 2001, explores the important role of food in Chinese culture. This work of art is filled with images of traditionally prepared dishes, unusual ingredients and recipes in calligraphy. Check out A Feast in SAM's online collection. | | | GARDNER CENTER The Gardner Center for Asian Art and Ideas creates dynamic public programs that provide informed perspectives on Asia, past and present. In keeping with the Seattle Art Museum’s vision, “SAM connects art to life,” the Gardner Center seeks to offer a holistic look at Asia, including dialogue around challenging social issues and international relations.
