The Art of Living: Films by Otto Preminger  >>
Viennese expatriate producer-director-actor Otto Preminger (1906-86), known for both his temperamental bluster and well-mannered courtliness, masterfully portrays the flawed, and magnificent human condition on film. A champion of free expression, Preminger broke the Hollywood censorship code and the blacklist, and the Old World modernist teamed with (among others) Frank Sinatra, Laurence Olivier, Joan Crawford, Henry Fonda, Kim Novak, Jean Seberg, Deborah Kerr, James Stewart, Charles Laughton and Noel Coward to show us the art of living.
