First Friday Films Imagine: A Portrait of the Painter

In conjunction with the exhibition Howard Hodgkin: Time and Place, the Museum will be screening an hour long documentary on the painter Howard Hodgkin from Alan Yentob’s BBC television series Imagine. The film follows Howard from his England studio to India, a place whose art has long been of interest to Hodgkin. Before the film, Asian Art Curator, Dr. Sonya Quintanilla, will discuss the specific influence of Indian art on Hodgkin’s paintings.
