Have you met the Walker Channel?
The Walker Channel launched in 2003 as a way to offer live webcasts of Walker programs; eight years later, it still regularly hosts webcasts, and has also become home to a constantly growing archive of nearly 300 videos and audio recordings. You can find it at channel.walkerart.org, as well as on on YouTube and iTunes U.
The Channel offers free access to many of the Walker's public programs, from dialogues with filmmakers and interviews with musicians, choreographers, and visual artists. Videos of the annual Insights Design Lecture Series--currently running through March--have helped to create an avid fan base in the international design community.
March also inspired Walker Channel Madness, which kicked off yesterday. Featuring exciting video face-offs and online polls, this tournament will determine which Walker Channel video reigns supreme! You can find all the details, the roster, and the all-important bracket over on the Walker blogs.
Check out a few select videos below, then dig deeper on your own. And don't forget to catch a live webcast next time you can't make it to the Walker in person. read more >> |
