| Pae and Kay
What does a collapsed rainbow look like? Can public art inspire us to do good? Find out this summer with two site-specific installations opening downtown. Pae White draws on her interest in graphic design, textiles, and animation to transform the Bluhm Family Terrace at the museum into a riot of color and play. See Restless Rainbow, which opened May 21.
And Kay Rosen brings her trademark language imagery to State Street in a public arts commission from the Chicago Loop Alliance. Rosen's installation is part of the Art Loop 2011 Go Do Good initiative and is complemented by a selection of her work on the second floor of the Modern Wing, on view until June 26. Be sure to catch these two site-specific installations on display throughout the summer.

| New Galleries Good things come to those who wait. The Art Institute's superb collections of African art and Indian art of the Americas return June 3 to brand new galleries in the museum's lower Morton Wing. Working closely with California-based architectural firm wHY (Workshop Hakomori Yantrasast), our curators have created a space that presents an exciting range of forms and materials in a new light. Don't miss this world-class reinstallation that includes special loans like the spider silk textile and video installations by filmmaker Susan Vogel.

Tables are available so you can enjoy the garden while you eat. Each dining location has kid-friendly menu items too. For more information on summer dining options, call the Café Manager at (312) 443-3747.

| Docent Anniversary Did you know that 2011 is the 50th anniversary of the Art Institute of Chicago's Docent Program? Imagine this: over the last 50 years, docents have introduced the museum and its collection to hundreds of thousands of students in Chicago and beyond. You may have been one of them! In honor of this anniversary, we are collecting stories from people of all ages about the experiences they have had with a docent in this museum, as recently as yesterday or as long ago as 1961. Send your story to aicdocent@artic.edu and become a part of our historical record.

| Pitch In! The Annual Fund helps us accomplish everything we do: preparing a collection of masterpieces to move from storage back into the galleries, installing artworks for seven temporary exhibitions this spring, and providing more than 75 engaging art education programs every week. We can accomplish more together when you join or donate to the museum!
