First Art-o-mat® machine in Iowa!

On July 14th, the Corner House Gallery (Cedar Rapids) became the first Art-o-mat® host in Iowa. The machine was well received ...selling about 100 works at the opening. Iowa artist "Kettle" gave away a "golden" Art-o-mat piece. The lucky patron won a larger work. Iowa artist Ruth Ipsan-Brown also came out to the opening.

Here is a nice story by the Des Moine Register that pretty much covers it…..

We are happy to have Corner House and Stamats Communications as a host!

Aside from that, a handful of machines are almost ready to ship to new venues. So, summer is keeping us busy. Also, Art-o-mat was just featured in Vegas Seven Magazine.

Oh…we are always interested in hearing from artists new to the project. If you know someone who may be interested, please forward this link…

Second Art-o-mat® in Houston.....

Hi All!

We now have a second Art-o-mat® in Houston, TX. Our host will be the new Whole Foods Market in the Montrose neighborhood. The machine was designed with items from the bulk bins from our local WFM.

Here is a nice spot by channel 39…..

Diverseworks is our long time Houston host.

We also have another new host in Texas. The Esquire Tavern in San Antonio….which is the oldest bar on the Riverwalk.

Anyway, all eight of our Texas venues are interested in having local artists in their machines. We often hear that this artist/that artist wants to make Art-o-mat® work. But, there is a good chance that "We've howdyed but we ain't shook"….aka: we haven't been formally introduced. So, if you know of any artists who are interested in being involved, please send them our way.

Art-o-mat® featured in the Wall Street Journal.

The Art-o-mat® project was featured in an article about unconventional vending machines written by Nick Haramis. The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas mentioned and Corey Hengen was quoted. Elin Waterson's work pictured in the newsprint edition.

FYI, Corey recently self published a book of his photography. It is titled "SEEN - the world as I see it."
