Grab a picnic, bring a blanket and a few friends and come enjoy this film under the stars. The Hidden Fortress, is a 1958 jidai-geki film directed by Akira Kurosawa and starring Toshirō Mifune as General Rokurota Makabe and Misa Uehara as Princess Yuki. Lured by gold, two greedy peasants escort a man and woman across enemy lines. However, they do not realize that their companions are actually a princess and her general. This film is presented in collaboration with the San Diego Asian Film Foundation, and celebrates the Museum’s renowned collection of Asian Art. |
