The San Diego Museum of Art is pleased to present Reed: Mexico insurgente in conjunction with the centennial of the Mexican Revolution. This film, the directorial debut of Paul Leduc, who later directed Frida, depicts the American journalist John Reed’s account of the Revolution during his time with Pancho Villa’s army during the winter of 1913-14. Reed would later become famous for his reporting of the Russian Revolution, which was dramatized by Warren Beatty in Reds.

The presentation of this film is co-sponsored by the Mexican Consulate.

The Museum is supported by its Board, Members, donors, foundations, corporations, support organizations, countless volunteers, and our visitors. Additional financial support is provided by Members of the Museum, the County of San Diego Community Enhancement Program, and the City of San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture.
