Julien Duvivier: The Grand Artisan
Julien Duvivier, whose work of the 1930s helped define midcentury poetic realist cinema was a master of many genres. This series of ten features samples Duvivier's work from the silent era to the eve of the French New Wave. This film series continues in November and December, 2010.

Rosso Come il Cielo (Red Like the Sky)
Cristiano Bortone, 2005, Italian with subtitles, 96 minutes
recommended for ages 9 and up

Featuring children who are blind in most of the roles, Red Like the Sky is a beautifully crafted film about youth challenging preconceived ideas about blindness, and a testament to the power creativity has to open up the minds of children and adults alike.

Audio description, delivered through a wireless earphone, will be available for the screenings on October 3, 21, and 23. Audio description helps to ensure that people who are blind or have visual impairments enjoy equal access to cultural events.
