Explore four works by Monet | | This month only, Portland Art Museum visitors will have the chance to study two masterworks from Claude Monet's Water lilies series: the Museum's own Waterlilies (1914-15), one of the most popular pieces in the permanent collection, and the related painting Nymphéas (1914-1917), on loan from a private collection. Both works were created at Monet's home in Giverny, France with his beloved pond and garden as inspiration. The Museum's other Monet works, River at Lavacourt (1879) and Le Chateau d'Antibes (c. 1888), are also on view and hung in close proximity to the garden paintings, offering insight into the artist's practice over three decades. Don't miss your chance to see these four extraordinary paintings, on view together only through January 31!
