Come hear founders Susann Craig, Bob Roth, Marjorie Freed, Cleo Wilson, and Jan Petry, who has served as Exhibitions Chair since 1995, as they present why they thought Chicago needed an organization, the obstacles and detours as well as their hopes for the future. 4/19, 5:30pm: Weightless Women rule the water in Weightless, a short documentary film by Faith Pennick about a scuba diving camp for plus-size women. Weightless depicts larger women as they are rarely seen: 1) as physically active, and 2) not consumed by the need or expectation to be thin. Running time: 39 minutes, tickets: $15
4/30, 7pm: My Heart is An Idiot My Heart Is An Idiot is a documentary about love that spans more than two years and a hundred cities. The film captures the manic road-tripping lifestyle of Davy Rothbart (This American Life) as he tours North America in a van promoting his magazine FOUND, a virally popular and iconic printed collection of discarded notes and photographs. Running time: 95 minutes, tickets: $10 Both screenings will include Q&A with the filmmakers. |

If his work hadn't been salvaged from the landfill it was dumped in, we might not have known anything about Dellschau at all.
