Announcing the 2011 Summer Season!

Enjoy the finest summertime entertainment in the Triangle's most beloved amphitheatre! Béla Fleck and the Flecktones

Summer starts off with a musical bang with this masterful bluegrass ensemble. Renowned banjo master Béla Fleck—recipient of 11 Grammy Awards—reunites the founding members of his group, including harmonica player and keyboardist Howard Levy, for an evening of Flecktones magic.


Louisiana Dance Party, Part I

The most exciting musical talent to emerge from New Orleans in recent times, Troy Andrews, a.k.a. Trombone Shorty, brings his red-hot jazz / funk / pop / hip-hop band Orleans Avenue to blow the roof off the Museum Park Theater.

We’re letting the good times roll for a second week in a row as we welcome fiddle master and vocalist Michael Doucet with his Cajun sounds of the Deep South. We guarantee you’ll be tapping your foot all the way home.

Listen as folk artist Iris DeMent brings haunting melodies to life including her achingly beautiful rendition of "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" from the Coen brothers’ 2010 remake, True Grit. A screening of the Academy Award–nominated film will follow. 


An Evening with Leo Kottke
Saturday, August 6 | 8 pm

When Leo Kottke released 1969’s 6- and 12-String Guitar, otherwise known as the armadillo album, acoustic guitar aficionados were awestruck. Come watch and listen as Kottke continues to impress and inspire with his impeccable skill and vocal charm.

Battlefield Band breathes new life into bagpipes, whistles, and fiddles with modern takes on traditional Scottish classics. Following the performance, watch a French magician find success in the land of the Scots in Sylvain Chomet’s animated film The Illusionist.

Fresh off a win for Best Traditional Folk album at the Grammys, this old-time string band from Durham will transport you back in time with a modern interpretation of the forgotten sounds of the Piedmont.
