Are you interested in applying to an Art Center degree program? Need to get your portfolio in tip-top shape before applying? Then just remember: the best place to prepare for Art Center is at Art Center. Art Center at Night (ACN), Art Center College of Design’s continuing studies program, offers nearly 200 courses in design and the visual arts, taught by practicing artists and designers who know how to gain that competitive edge. Ask Meliné Khatchatourian, a third term Transportation Design major at Art Center who shifted gears thanks to ACN's Introduction to Product and Transportation Design. Meliné recalls when her instructor used her car as a teaching tool. “My car was dissected and explained as a work of functional art,” she says. “I remember thinking, ‘I need to learn as much about this discipline as I can.’” So Meliné met with ACN Director Dana Walker, who suggested courses to prepare her portfolio for the College’s Transportation Design program. And the rest is ACN history. Read Meline’s story. Ready to make history yourself? Then come to Experience Art Center at Night, April 18–20, 7–9 p.m., a three-evening event where you can explore ACN's broad range of courses. And don’t forget: Registration begins April 11 and courses begin May 16. Please forward this email to anyone you think may be interested in ACN. |
